2024 Trump-Biden rematch will be an election like no other

The 2024 presidential race promises to be unlike any other in American history. Not only is the campaign almost certain to feature a heated contest between President Biden and former President Donald Trump, but Trump's political trial and Biden's impeachment proceedings are also likely to occur simultaneously.

How the biased mainstream media covers these dueling proceedings will be a display of dishonesty that will result in Donald Trump's advantage.

The American people fully understand what is happening and over the last eight years they have realized that Hunter Biden's laptop is real, and the Trump-Russia collusion story was fake.

Additionally, critically important legislative battles – with major implications for the future of the country – will take place on a parallel track. There will be consequential votes on Capitol Hill regarding sending tens of billions of US tax dollars to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan for government funding, border security and foreign aid.

Inserting presidential politics into these already controversial issues will raise the temperature even higher. However, the debate should help Trump's challenger's case. Biden's focus on Ukraine rather than our own national security and open southern border is a prime example of putting America last.

The results of this vitally important election will answer profound questions about the state of mind of our citizens and the direction of our country.

The campaign will provide voters with an opportunity to debate the effectiveness of Biden's big-government socialism versus the conservative Trump America First policies and ultimately decide whether American families are better off today than four years ago.

A presidential re-election contest is, by definition, a referendum on the incumbent. So, the American people will have a chance to have a voice about Biden's economy, the border, our education system, foreign policy — and the weaponization of the government against his political opponents.

If Biden wins, President Ronald Reagan's dream of America as a shining city on a hill will turn into the sunset. Americans will need to prepare for a future of European-style socialism, malaise and weakness.

Sadly, Biden's next four years will come with the understanding that there are some things America will not recover from. On the contrary, a Trump victory would be nothing less than the greatest political comeback story in American history.

And if polls are any indicator, voters strongly believe America is on the wrong track and are ready to return to Donald Trump's common-sense America First policies.

But all this is far from certain. Biden's Justice Department, along with radical Democrat prosecutors in New York and Atlanta, have decided to break basic democratic traditions and protocols by weaponizing our justice system to defeat Donald Trump by bypassing the ballot box.

This kind of un-American behavior is usually reserved for third world banana republics, but under President Biden, it has become an alarmingly common occurrence.

Headlines like “As Trump's lead grows, prosecutors step up pursuit” confirm that we are in uncharted territory. Prosecutors should not be watching polls or following politically motivated timelines to help their favorite candidate win, but as we speak, the DOJ is doing exactly that.

Republicans in Congress must recognize the despicable actions that are taking place and step back. If Trump's trial begins in Washington in March, House impeachment proceedings against Biden should begin the same week.

President Biden has decided to destroy our constitutional republic by weaponizing the government to jail his top political rival, so Republicans have no choice but to adapt. The left is playing to win at all costs; Now is the time for the GOP to recognize this fact and engage decisively.

In addition to a very aggressive stance on impeachment, congressional Republicans need to work harder on policy and government funding. As the laddered continuing resolution expires, Republicans should be prepared to de-fund the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice unless significant reforms are written into law.

Our country trusts a government that administers justice fairly and secures the borders, period. If Congress believes that Special Counsel Jack Smith is basing his prosecution on the political calendar and voting, he should no longer be funded. Likewise, if it feels that Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is knowingly allowing the invasion of our country, it should also not be funded.

The American people are demanding our government work “for the people” and Biden would support a partial government shutdown if necessary to end the chaos and force the White House to save lives. It's a fight worth having this year.
