Grassley Released From Hospital, Expects Return To Senate

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has been released from the hospital and is expected to return to work in the near future, according to a statement Thursday.

"Thank you for your well wishes and prayers, happy to be home, looking forward to getting back to work," Grassley wrote on Twitter.

Grassley was hospitalized with an infection earlier this week, according to his office.

"Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is being treated for an infection at an area hospital receiving an antibiotic injection," his office said Tuesday. "He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors' orders."

Grassley, 90, was elected to the Senate in 1980 and has been re-elected seven times, including most recently in 2022.

Angus King (I-ME), 79; Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), 79; Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), 77; Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), 77; Senator Tom Carper (D-DE), 76; Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), 76; Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT), 76; Senator Peter Welch (D-VT), 76; Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), 76; and Sen.
