Man removing snow from roof in Tennessee killed after falling through skylight

One of six deaths reported in the state due to this week's winter storm

A man died this week after falling from a skylight while shoveling snow from the roof of a business in Tennessee.

According to reports, the Hickman County Sheriff's Office said the unidentified 66-year-old man fell about 20 feet while on a rooftop in Hickman County in the central part of the state on Monday afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after falling to the concrete floor, the Hickman County Emergency Management Agency said, according to WKRN-TV. A witness called 911 after the crash.

The incident was one of six deaths caused by this week's winter storm in the state, including two in Shelby County, one in Madison County and two in Washington County.

A box truck driver died after sliding into a tractor-trailer on an interstate and a woman died of hypothermia after being found unconscious in her home.

"A winter weather system began traveling across the state on Sunday, Jan. 14, bringing dangerously cold temperatures and snowfall across Tennessee," the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said in a release Wednesday. "We are expecting another round of winter precipitation to hit the state [Thursday]. While temperatures are expected to reach above zero, temperatures are expected to dip back below zero on Friday over the weekend."

Fox News Digital has contacted the Hickman County Office of Emergency Management and the Hickman County Sheriff's Department.
