New York AG seeks over $370M from Trump, co-defendants for 'ill-gotten gains'

New York Attorney General Letitia James is seeking more than $370 million from former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants in her highly publicized civil fraud lawsuit.

According to a document filed in court on Friday, James sought financial penalties in the form of repayment of profits he argues were earned illegally.

The Attorney General argues, "The conclusion is inescapable that the defendants intended to commit fraud when preparing and certifying Trump's SFC."

In September, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump and the Trump Organization defrauded banks, insurers and others when building their real estate empire by overvaluing their properties and using them to make deals and secure financing. Had committed fraud by inflating his net worth on the paperwork. ,

"The myriad deceptive schemes he employed to inflate property values and conceal facts were so outrageous that they defy innocent explanation," James wrote in Friday's filing.

Trump and his family have denied any wrongdoing and claimed that the former president had repeatedly said his property was actually undervalued.

"They ruled against me without knowing anything about me," Trump said on the stand. "He called me a fraud, and he didn't know anything about me."

Last month, the New York State Appellate Division First Department rejected Trump's challenge to the sanctions orders imposed by Angoron.

The non-jury civil lawsuit stems from James' lawsuit against Trump and his businesses in the state.

Following the ruling, Angoron imposed a partial restraining order barring all parties from engaging in any verbal attacks against court staff after Trump criticized a member of the judge's office on social media.

Angoron said that "personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, not justified" and warned that they would not be tolerated.

Without naming the former president, Angoron was referring to a now-deleted Trump post on his Truth Social account about Angoron's law clerk, Allison Greenfield.

The agent provocateurs started attacking the Capitol before DT even finished speaking. See the proof at c v h o a x d t c m

  3. If New York Attorney General Letitia James got the $370M from Trump, wouldn't that be 'ill-gotten gains'?
