Bill Maher warns upcoming Trump trials will make him look like a 'revolutionary leader'

"Real Time" host Bill Maher offered a word of caution ahead of former President Trump's four criminal trials, predicting they will make him look like a "revolutionary leader" when the 2024 campaign begins.

In an interview published Monday by Reason Magazine, Maher shared his pessimism about the upcoming election, which is increasingly looking like a rematch between Trump and President Biden.

"I think I'm where a lot of people are: I want Biden to step aside," Maher said. "Well, first of all, I don't want Trump to win, but he absolutely could win, and it looks like he will. But a lot can change in a year. We haven't tested him in any way." Have done – although if the January 6 commission and the media and everything else hasn't changed people's minds about liking him, I think these trials are only going to make him look like a revolutionary leader."

He added, "All you have to say is, 'The people who prosecuted me were corrupt!' And then your abusive behavior becomes a badge of honor. So whether the trials will help or hurt him is hard to say. I think it will be about a draw, and then it will really be a referendum on which side to take. There's more madness."

“And both sides have a case, although I'm always on the side of 'Trump is definitely really crazy.' He's stupid and crazy. Those are two completely different things, but he has both. I "I'm even more concerned about the crazy side," Maher said, "but crazy pictures, crazy pictures, it's compelling. And when it comes, come on, people will cover it, see it. It's not going to be boring."

"And in this fact-free society, I don't think any of these issues are really what most people vote on. It doesn't really matter what any of them say or do, because “Each has their own media sources, which are in the business of feeding back to their audiences what they want to hear,” he adds.

In March, Maher warned that the first indictment would be brought by the New York D.A. Was brought by. Alvin Bragg will become "rocket fuel" for Trump's 2024 campaign.

Maher said at the time, "I would just like to say that if they make these allegations I think it's a big mistake. Not, you know." "I mean, yes, he's done a lot of bad things, and I'm sure he's done it — everything they accused him (of doing), he did it. But first of all, it's not Will do. This will be rocket fuel for his 2024 campaign. And it's going to make MAGA nation look like, 'Oh, you know, you tried with Mueller, you tried with Ukraine, you tried with January 6. Tried. Now we go to porn stars? Really? You're below that?!'"

After the first impeachment, Trump's GOP polling increased and remained high as three other rounds of impeachments were brought against him, two from Special Counsel Jack Smith and one from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia, for a total of 91. There were allegations.

Maher also revealed in the interview that a "very famous" person scolded him for allowing Republicans on his HBO show.

“This year I had [Ron] DeSantis and Ted Cruz and Bill Barr. And yes, to answer your question, I can think of two people — and I won't say who they are; One is very famous - just yell at me in an email about that," Maher said. "And my response to that is: F--- off. You know what? You live in your ivory tower. I'm going to talk to everyone in the half of the country that finds you so reprehensible. They are not going to self-exile, even if they are condemned. And there are some of them! And anything on the left is reprehensible, and incredibly unpleasant. This is the country!”

He added, "When historians look back a hundred years, if we're still here, I don't think they're going to divide the country like we do into these two camps. They're going to say: One's As a people, they were obnoxious. It happens in different forms on both sides. As a people, they did not believe in science. On the right, they think global warming is a hoax or they Whatever bullshit they believe. And on the left, they think men can have babies. That's what they'll say. They'll say, 'As a person, they've just lost their existence.'"
