MEG SPEAKS Meghan Markle fawns over new website’s design despite furious backlash over her and Harry using royal titles

Meghan Markle has broken her silence amid criticism over new website Sussex.com and 'hypocritical' use of royal titles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced fierce criticism after rebranding their Archewell website and even royal experts branded them "pathetic".

It was designed by Article, a Canadian digital agency that Meghan previously used to create her lifestyle blog The Tig & Archewell.

In a recent statement, the Duchess wrote: "There's a reason I've worked with Ryan and the talented team at Article for a decade: his attention to detail, his creativity and care, and his thoughtful approach to design. User Experience .

"They're not just designers; they're collaborators who elevate your ideas into visual identity.

"They're a very special company. Plus they're Canadian, so I'm a fan."

It comes after a major rebrand of Harry and Meghan's Archewell site - redirecting visitors to Sussex.com.

While the couple abandoned their website, their foundation under the same name is still in effect.

The website Sussex.com claims Prince Harry and Meghan's office will share a "personal update for the couple", according to sources who are not related to Archewell.

It is also called a "one-stop-shop" for their activities.

Their new move to rebrand as Sussex.com comes after the Queen banned the couple from using 'SussexRoyal' after stepping down from royal duties four years ago.

The queen ordered the Sussexes to reduce it in their January 2020 exit agreement, when Meghan and Harry stopped being senior members of the royal family.

But the new site still links to the Sussex Royal website.

Royal commentator Richard FitzWilliams criticized the couple for using the royal coat of arms as their crest.

"They have every right to use the coat of arms, but this includes using a loophole to effectively sidestep the Sussexes and take advantage of their royal status," he said.

“He has caused a huge amount of damage to the family.

“The only way they made money was to use their royal links on their Netflix documentary and Harry's book Spare. Since Charles has cancer he cannot attack the royal family.

“But if this is the best they can do, who is advising them? It's quite boring. It's quite puzzling.”

Harry has also faced claims that the crest is outdated.

When Charles took the throne 17 months ago, Harry became the monarch's son rather than grandson.

Yet the crown of the crest has five points for the grandson instead of three for the son.

It is the couple's first rebrand since launching Archewell in October 2020.

Visitors to that site see a notice that reads: "This site was established in 2020 and sets out the work streams of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, before moving to the United States." Is."

'Roast'
Royal expert Angela Levin branded the couple "pathetic" for using the royal coat of arms on their new website.

He told The Sun: “They are taking advantage of their royal connections, which they say they hate very much.

“Queen Elizabeth II will be furious because they promised they wouldn't do it.

"He should be prevented from using the title he spent years insulting."

There are also discussions that it could be discontinued, as it is believed that rebranding would upset the company.

An insider told MailOnline: “The use of the Sussexes is going to cause them real trouble.

“This is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism it will be shut down.

“It's shocking, they can't see how disgusting it is.”

But now a source close to the couple has defended the move.

He said: “Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. This is a fact. This is his surname and family name.

royal rebrand
In September last year, it was revealed that the couple were planning to launch new projects.

On Sussex.com, Harry and Meghan's biographies include this line: "The Duke and Duchess are committed to their mission: Show up, do well.

“They value that charitable work should not be just a helping hand, but a hands-on approach.”

The site also reads: “The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is shaping the future through business and philanthropy.

"This includes: Archewell Foundation, Archewell Productions, conservation, enterprises and organizations that receive the couple's support individually and/or together."

Prince Harry's biography describes him as "a humanitarian, military veteran, mental health advocate and environmental campaigner".

It reads: "He has dedicated his adult life to advancing causes about which he is passionate and which drive lasting change for people and places."

The site also describes his time spent in the military, names organizations he founded, and notes that he is a New York Times bestselling author after writing Spare.

Meghan's biography states that she is "a feminist and champion of human rights and gender equality".

The website says: "Her lifelong advocacy for women and girls remains a constant thread in her humanitarian and business ventures."

It says she has been "named one of the most influential women in the world", had a major role in the show Suits and has worked in roles such as UN Women advocate for women's political participation.

It comes as the pair are set to appear in Vancouver this week, 12 months before Harry's Invictus Games 2025.
