Here are where things stand in Trump's civil fraud case and criminal hush money trial

Monday was a big legal day for former President Donald Trump, with some major movements in the civil fraud and wealth concealment cases against him.

Here's what you need to know about each case:

Hush Money case: Trump charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up Trump's former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen's alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election Hush money refers to reimbursements made for payments.

The former president has pleaded innocent and denied the affair.

During a hearing in New York on Monday, which Trump attended, Judge Juan Merchan said the criminal trial against the former president would begin with jury selection on April 15. The judge rejected Trump's motion to dismiss the indictment entirely or further delay the trial.

Civil fraud case: A New York appeals court ruled that Trump must post a $175 million bond as he appeals a civil fraud verdict against him. He was also given 10 additional days to post bond.

It's a huge lifeline for the former president, who was fined more than $464 million along with his adult sons and his company, which was due today, after Judge Arthur Angoron found that Trump and his co-defendants committed fraud. The value of his property had increased by Rs. ,

The decision, for the time being, blocks the possibility of New York Attorney General Letitia James seeking to seize the former president's assets to enforce the judgment against him.
